🟠 NEWS: Top Venezuelan leader warns U.S. is seeking to fracture Venezuela’s military after Maduro kidnapping

Venezuela’s powerful Interior and Justice Minister Diosdado Cabello, a longtime Chavista power broker and former head of the ruling PSUV party with deep ties to the armed forces, warned that the United States is moving into a “second stage” aimed at dividing Venezuela’s military ranks following the seizure of President Nicolás Maduro. Speaking in a nationally broadcast address, Cabello urged Venezuelans “not to play into the hands of imperialism” and said the political and military leadership remains “monolithically united, like a rock,” around the instructions Maduro left before his capture.

Cabello stressed that Maduro remains the country’s only legitimate president, saying Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and the high military command have made that clear. Calling for “nerves of steel” and maximum mobilization, he warned against falling for provocations, arguing that the U.S. operation exposed Washington’s real aim: Venezuela’s oil.

José Luis Granados Ceja notes that while there is no evidence of U.S. troops currently inside Venezuela, the military posture is already significant, with “at least 20,000 troops nearby” positioned in Puerto Rico and on amphibious ships offshore.

Trump acknowledged “boots on the ground” were used to kidnap President Nicolás Maduro and said Washington is prepared for further strikes and additional kidnappings.

Granados Ceja says this creates a forced “transition” inside Venezuela, but calls Trump’s claim that Vice President Delcy Rodríguez would cooperate “very, very odd” and “not credible,” stressing she is a powerful Maduro ally unlikely to lend herself to U.S. rule. “Not to mention the fact that she’s been on the air all day talking about the need to resist this. Even if she did attempt to collaborate, she would be pushed out by revolutionary forces,”

🔴 Major INGOs barred from Gaza for refusing to help Israel build a kill list

Israel has moved to block 37 international NGOs from operating in Gaza after they refused to hand over names and addresses of local staff. The reason is obvious: Israel has repeatedly used such information to target and kill the most skilled civilian professionals.

After breaking the ceasefire in March 2025, Israeli officials openly signaled an expansion of assassination policy beyond fighters. In May, Israel’s finance minister said the army was “finally conducting a campaign against the civilian rule of Hamas and not just focusing on the military infrastructure,” adding that Israel was now eliminating “ministers, officials, money changers, and elements of the economic and governmental system.”

In the week that followed, Israeli forces killed 12 specialized medical workers. Since October 2023, more than 1,600 medical personnel have been killed, including hospital directors assassinated in their homes with their families. Over 500 medical workers have been arrested or detained, including Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Over 500 medical workers have been arrested or detained, including Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital.

American surgeon Dr. Feroze Sidhwa told Drop Site that demanding staff lists under these conditions amounts to asking NGOs to hand over details of people to be killed. If Israel wants organizations to share names, he said, it should stop targeting and killing humanitarian workers.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry now claims the ban is justified by alleged mistreatment of Israeli captives by an unnamed doctor in Gaza. No publicly available evidence has been produced to substantiate the claim. Putting that aside, using an unverified allegation to bar Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, the IRC, and dozens of other aid groups only makes sense if Israel is preparing for more of its citizens to be taken captive.

🇻🇪 NEW: The CIA carried out a covert drone strike earlier in December 2025 on a remote port facility along Venezuela’s coast — the first known U.S. attack on a target inside the country, according to CNN.

U.S. officials claim the dock was used by the Tren de Aragua gang to store and load narcotics for export. U.S. Special Operations Forces reportedly provided intelligence support. President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that the U.S. had hit “a major explosion in the dock area where they load the boats up with drugs,” describing it as the “implementation area” and adding, “that is no longer around.”

Pressed on who conducted the operation, Trump said, “I know exactly who it was, but I don’t want to say who it was,” while adding it was “along the shore.”

No casualties have been reported, but the strike risks sharply escalating tensions with President Nicolás Maduro and escalates the US pressure campaign that has already included repeated boat strikes and oil tanker blockades, part of a broader effort to force regime change in Venezuela.

I am aware that much of the sentiment is divided by class: the letters' signatories are mostly artists, the letters' detractors are mostly their dealers and collectors. This is not a new rift in the art world, but Palestine seems to have deepened it beyond repair. Jay tells me that the magazine's publishers are putting together a statement, and he asks me to write something describing my missteps, something I could post on Artforum's website and to my personal Instagram. "And if I say no?" I ask. "Hopefully it won't come to that," he tells me.
I walk downtown to clear my head. What can I say? I don't like the barely veiled threat, and I'm not sorry. Two weeks earlier, I cringed watching Samira Nasr, the editor of Harper's Bazaar, post an apology for an Instagram story. stating that Israel cutting off Gazans' access to water and power "is the most inhuman thing I've seen in my life". To me it's simple: my job is to position the magazine correctly in the current of history. We have done the right thing.

After more than two years of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, Al Araby TV hosted a rare on-air debate from the ruins of Al-Shifa Hospital, between Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem, Fatah spokesperson Munther Hayek, and veteran Palestinian writer and lawyer Mustafa Ibrahim. They discuss October 7, resistance, governance, unity, and the political “day after.”

In the opening exchange, host Islam Badr frames the central question facing Palestinians following two years of annihilation: who has the authority to decide war and peace. Hamas’ Qassem explains that Hamas has long sought a collective national decision through elections, reconciliation, and joint resistance structures, agreeing that decisions about how to confront Israel should be made through a unified Palestinian institution, not by any single faction.

Bari Weiss spiked the CECOT story because she wanted to have Stephen Miller included and demanded to control the language 60 Minutes used to describe the men who were brutally tortured after being sent to El Salvador without due process.
One of Ms. Weiss's suggestions was to include an interview with Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff and the architect of Mr. Trump's immigration crackdown, or a similarly high-ranking Trump administration official, two of the people said. Ms. Weiss provided contact information for Mr. Miller to the "60
Minutes" staff.
Ms. Weiss also questioned the use of the term "migrants" to describe the Venezuelan men who were deported, noting that they were in the United States illegally, two of the people said.
In her note, Ms. Alfonsi said that her team had requested comment from the White House, the State Department, and the Department of Homeland Security. "If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a
'kill switch' for any reporting they find inconvenient," Ms.

Wow: Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named for Holocaust survivor Raphael Lemkin, who coined term "genocide") calls Clinton's remarks "genocide denial." "Young people in the US are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well."
Statement on Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s Genocide Denial at the Israel Hayom Summit

December 9, 2025

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security feels called to point out that former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s recent remarks at the Israel Hayom Summit on 2 December amount to outright genocide denial.

During her remarks, the Secretary correctly noted that the recent deterioration of Israel’s standing among U.S. voters is not a “Republican versus Democrat kind of divide” but rather a generational one. Nevertheless, she incorrectly diagnosed the reasons for the shift as a matter purely of optics, stating that “Israel [has] the worst PR of any group” and accusing social media, particularly TikTok, of presenting “pure propaganda” that American youth are uncritically ingesting.

Secretary Clinton’s framing is not at all an accurate reflection of why Americans are growing more critical of Israel. Young Americans of all political stripes have not fallen prey to propaganda, though that is always a legitimate concern. Rather, they have consumed two years of videos depicting Israel’s genocide against Palestinians that have been uploaded by Palestinian journalists, ordinary people trying to survive in Gaza, IDF soldiers, and ordinary Israelis themselves. There has been no convincing refutation of the sheer amount of raw evidence of genocide coming out of Palestine. Young people in the U.S. are not stupid or gullible. They simply reject genocide – something the Secretary might consider doing as well.

Secretary Clinton appears not to be bothered by the reality of genocidal violence – in fact, she did not mention anything about it. Her concern is, rather, in her words, “the narrative” – the fact that these crimes are no longer hidden and are now being live-streamed and documented in real time, making it harder for her and others to control it. TikTok cannot be blamed for the fact that many members of Gen Z understand that Israel is …It is in fact highly ironic to blame TikTok for the dissemination of content laying bare the realities of Israel’s genocide in Palestine. Like many other social media conglomerates, TikTok has been accused of systematic censorship of pro-Palestinian content. In July of this year, TikTok appointed an ex-IDF instructor as its new manager of hate speech. This person can hardly be accused of pro-Palestinian views given her background and stated opinions. It appears that what Secretary Clinton really means to say is that TikTok is not being effective enough at censoring the truth.

What truly seems to unsettle Secretary Clinton is not “misinformation,” but rather the fact that younger generations are no longer consuming a single, state-controlled narrative. They are accessing unfiltered images and testimonies that challenge decades of political messaging. This helps explain why TikTok has become a target, not because it is misleading students, but precisely because the content uploaded by its users allow them to see beyond official propaganda.

When former Secretary Clinton calls this “a serious problem for democracy,” it sounds less like a defense of democratic values and more like concern for the weakening of a long-standing political and ideological agenda, one that, it must be stated, is highly undemocratic.

Secretary Clinton did get one thing right, although quite inadvertently: When you do not have the truth on your side, all you left with is indeed optics and “the narrative.” But she is wrong to think that any amount of PR – even really great and expensive PR – is going to hide this genocide. Israel would be better served by advice to end the genocide, engage in a transformational process that brings the perpetrators to justice, and build a future with Palestinians. That is the only way to change its image.

America’s young people are no longer fooled by genocide denial – whether it is being presented by Israel, the United States, Sudan, Myanmar, Russia, or Secre…
