Checking through the others authors books & publication dates it should be wildly obvious no one could write that many books that quickly without using AI & stealing. I hope you've put a complaint in to Amazon at least.

"By using AI, tasks like essays that used to take hours can be completed in minutes!" Sure, like how if I arrive at the gym and immediately go for a shower, my workout is done in record time. And if I throw my sandwiches straight in the bin, I can finish my lunch in under 10 seconds.

Many will. It'll be used as a new way to divide people & create a new "enemy" that will be required when the pogrom against the current one (migrants) fails to make anyone's lives better.

Lie? Lying is a deliberate conscious choice to deceive. Not sure that applies to AI. Let's not start ascribing AI human motives.

Of course. I'm happy to acknowledge its popularity and that there is work to be done to sell revising the policy. I wasn't really trying to have a big argument with anyone. I do think a key part is pointing out how unfair it can be under certain circumstances.

Except all the evidence shows that the way questions are phrased can influence a poll's responses. If it was gut instinct, what someone instinctively thinks, then why include emotive arguments on each side?

Alex Wasyliw @alexofthew.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
No arguments at all. The questions feel very "framed" with quite shallow arguments. There are many other important points to consider if you are going to ask people to choose based on something more than just their existing opinion.

Alex Wasyliw @alexofthew.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
That's a terrible poll imo. The statements are really misleading (objectively) and if they are meant to just be "what people might be thinking then they are incredibly leading.

Suella Braverman can fuck the fuck off. If she wants people to start outright opposing the place of Christianity in our country this is a very good way to go about it. Hoping (not expecting) church leaders will realise forcing their religion on people may backfire & speak out against it.

Alex Wasyliw @alexofthew.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
I guess that depends on just how damaging & pressing the current failings are. Maybe better to address them (in part) then have a wider, more meaningful conversation about what we want. Danger of course is that the latter part stalls.

Important to remember that the debate around social care right now is about *free* care - ending the lottery of life that means some are financially ruined by care costs as they age. It is not about providing *better* care, which would require spending of another order…

quite. Would be better IMO to have a debate about what kind of care system we want, and then about how we finance it, rather than vice versa..
