The NHS Guidance on trans people in hospital will protect zero women but will badly harm trans people. What a hateful disgrace and will be remembered by future generations as a stain on us all.

The NHS is already one of the biggest perpetrators of anti-trans violence in the UK. This new guidance, which refers to trans people using slurs, demands that we be segregated and abused. I’ve said it before: senior NHS managers must be sacked and punished for what they’ve done to us.

I'm only catching up with this days late due to thankfully not being on X, but it's actually got to this point - the last week multiple videos of trans women being harassed have gone viral, with huge support for the harassers, including prominent lawyers and GC commentators.

I’m gonna change the subject here because this is a story I’ve been wanting to tell for a long time. I want to talk about the time I watched Lord of the Rings, one of if not my very favorite movie, with a Black friend who was seeing it for the first time.

It is extremely funny to me that I have no nostalgia for Harry Potter despite being the perfect demographic for it as a fantasy-loving bookworm millennial child, because my nutbag fundie parents thought the books were demonic and wouldn’t let me read them. Spared in the most ironic way possible!

I worked with Tim Curry when I was seven, we were in the Opening Number of the Oscars together. I had no business being there, to be honest. I couldn’t sing OR dance. But he was patient with me, and was as funny, fun, and kind as you’d hope him to be. I always hoped I’d be able to see him again.

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

One thing I wish people would realize is just how central JK Rowling is to the entire anti-trans ecosystem. Looking at a network node analysis of the top 200 anti-trans X accounts, she is the most central figure spanning both sides of the Atlantic from Republicans to Labour.
A network graph visualization on a dark background showing connections between various accounts. The central, highly connected node is labeled "J.K. Rowling," with lines radiating out to many other nodes color-coded by region (UK, US, etc.). A detail panel on the right displays stats for her account, including her role as "Author & commentator," an in-degree of 153, an out-degree of 84, and 14 million followers.A scatter plot graph on a dark background comparing accounts based on "followers (log)" on the x-axis and "in-degree" on the y-axis. The data points are color-coded by region. J.K. Rowling is highlighted as a major outlier in the top right corner, possessing the highest number of followers and the highest in-degree. Other labeled points lower on the graph include various politicians, individuals, and campaign organizations.

Burnham is showing increasingly that he is no different to Starmer: first, pretend a crisis isn't happening, then when you can't pretend that, claim it's all due to a tiny factor that you will solve with a single law. Then switch to far-right talking points, pretend it isn't happening again.

You'd have to read to the thirteenth paragraph to discover the pull quote for the title was from Marcus Siding, a 23-year-old Swedish man living in Sweden that wanted to become a cop, but his ADHD diagnosis at the age of 12 barred him by law from becoming a Swedish cop Seems relevant
'“When my ADHD diagnosis was removed, it was a relief’
Rates of conditions such as ADHD and autism seem to be ever growing, but some adults diagnosed in childhood are happy to be free of their labels”

UK journalism *created* transphobia as a font of far-right hatred almost entirely unaided. They sowed the sparks and fanned the flames to create the inferno. To now back off because they feel their own safety is at risk from the fire? I'm genuinely furious at the moral bankruptcy involved.

TBH a rule of thumb is that if a protest doesn't cause enough disruption to get noticed it's not a protest so much as a parade. We don't have friendly journalists on retainer at the telegraph so we probably ought to give them something to clutch pearls at.

Amnesty International taking down its list of British, and other countries’, transphobic groups doesn’t mean those groups aren’t transphobic. It means the British legal system is broken because these assholes can threaten to sue for “libel” despite the fact that they take away rights from people.

If anyone is thinking to do actual campaigning in Clacton, it is ESSENTIAL that you get agreement from Count Binface. This is not a joke. We do not want to get him into trouble.
All expenditure in support of a candidate MUST be accounted for by the candidate even if they didnt pay it out themselves. Otherwise he would be breaking the law for not declaring the expenditure in his post-election expenses return to the authorities.
Also any leaflets have to say who printed and published them, even if not produced by CBf himself. And the costs (even if donated by supporters) MUST be agreed by CBf so he can include them in his expenses return.
I should add that I do know what I am talking about - I was a member of the Greens and stood for election for many years, sometimes even successfully! CBf needs to be squeaky clean on this sort of thing, compared to Frogface.
