Book Day Week 8: Today was more editing than writing, but I still ended up writing about 1,700 words (4 pages). I'm committed to next week being the last I spend on this chapter for a while, as I need to move on (but I've learned a lot of latent growth curve models, so that's pretty cool!)

Tired of "it worked on my computer" breaking your #RStats projects? Tomorrow on the Data Science Lab, @rpodcast.bsky.social is going live to demo {rix}, an @ropensci.org package that uses Nix to build reproducible R environments. I caught a sneak peek and it's WOW! Join us! https:// pos.it/dslab
Event graphic with a muted beige and purple gradient background. On the left, stylized 3D black text with red and cyan shadow effects reads "NIX & {RIX} for reproducible data science." On the right, a dark gray box displays R code using the "rix()" function with parameters for R version 4.3.3 and packages "dplyr" and "ggplot2". Above the code box is a hexagonal logo with a cave painting style artwork featuring a bull, deer, and snowflakes above the word "rix". In the bottom right, bold black text reads "Join us with Eric Nantz, Tues, September 1 @ 12 pm ET, pos.it/dslab".

Week 6 Book Day: Today I wrote the part of the chapter that I'd been avoiding. About 2000 words and a lot of rewriting old things. Very productive I would say. One more section left, which I left as a treat for myself (looking forward to writing it), and we'll have a full draft!

🧐 What do citizens think about "null results" in scientific research? To find out, @johnholbein1.bsky.social & I fielded a large-scale online experiment. We gave respondents straightforward info about a study, asked them some Qs, showed them the results, then asked them Qs again.
