Kind of insane to say “my mum was sick but I was more concerned about the trans person in the ward” and that’s a real serious thing we aren’t supposed to say “that’s insane have you tried being normal” to. When my Mum had a stay in hospital this summer I was most concerned about her getting better

I think it is quite interesting how a lot of the paths seen as more “natural” - Shadowheart staying with Shar, Lae’zel staying with vlaakith - require player interaction. The story is setup for those characters to change, you have to actively stop that (which is pretty evil)

I did a playthrough with a friend as the dark urge and astarion and it really highlights how minthara’s “good” route is wildly out of character. She’s evil! Really quite evil, in that her response to breaking the conditioning is “wow i wish I was controlling that, that’s sick”

Doing the return part of this journey now. First train is a 1 stop hop before my cross country train back to Manchester. 10 minute connection, so of course my train is 11 minutes late. Manchester train is once an hour. I should learn to drive.

Anecdotally what seems to be happening is that the Home Office is refusing all student visa applications from certain countries. The Treasury should have told them to knock if off years ago but at this point the FCO needs to tell them to stop trying to cause an international incident.

Train is already delayed by 7 minutes as the physical train is 30 minutes late on its last journey. I’m not even on it yet. We are never breaking car dependency in this country outside of travelling to/from London.

Jaguar has a pretty great electric pedigree in motorsport now, they’ve been consistently top of FormulaE alongside Porsche for the last few years. If the tech has transferred like you’d hope then it should be a technically very impressive car. That obviously does not mean good sales though

Fair enough, I think everyone has had at least one author/book that’s critically acclaimed but they never get into. I would put her in the category of early sci-fi authors where her work is varied enough that you could probably find a book you liked, but it also might not be worth the effort.

Which books of hers have you read, out of interest? I’ve not quite got to earthsea in my reading list, but I really rated left hand of darkness and the lathe of heaven. I imagine they’re quite different styles though, as my Mum remembers enjoying Earthsea as a kid.

The inclusion of Mac here is wrong imo. I played games on Mac for a while because I needed a Mac for my uni course and it didn’t make sense to buy a separate console/PC when the Mac was “good enough”. Most people who game on Mac are in the same boat in my experience. It’s not about convenience.

I would love to eat more deer, but it’s expensive. I think it’d be interesting to shoot and prepare a deer as well, to see the consequences of eating meat. They also have to be culled so it’s not immoral. I told this to a work friend and now he now asks “shoot any deer this weekend?” Every week
