You can't get anyone in political media to say it plainly, but GOP strategy for several decades now has been built around the fact that its core goals/policies are *wildly unpopular*. Everything depends on a) polluting the information environment, b) cementing unfair structural advantages, & c) $$$.

🤑 I don’t think there’s enough public awareness of RFK Jr’s grift The extreme & very kooky anti-vaxx activist group was paying him $500,000 a year to peddle anti-vaxx BS, there’s the massive fees he got from suing the HPV vaccine maker, the profits from peddling conspiracy theory books, etc., etc.

It is about noticing how it feels at that moment, letting your tears come, and then letting them go. Knowing that the moment of grief will overwhelm you, feeling its familiar knot in your throat, and knowing that it will recede. Like the rain.”

I LOVED this! I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up Starter Villain by John Scalzi. Spy cats and trash-talking dolphins? A supervillain volcano lair?? Even my pup was unsure! Yet somehow it all works SO WELL. Hilarious and diabolically charming. So clever. What an enjoyable escape!

Lost in the chaos of everything; last week CDC (yes, this current CDC!) issued guidance for COVID vaccination. Last year they recommended vaccination based on "shared decision making." This year it's a stronger recommendation: "COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all adults ages 18 years and older"

At a glance

Two types of COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for use in the United States: mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech) and a protein subunit vaccine (Novavax; now manufactured by Sanofi US Inc).
A 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for all adults ages 18 years and older.
A 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine is also recommended for all children ages 6 months–17 years with moderate to severe immunocompromise; for all other children in this age group, a COVID-19 vaccine is recommended through shared clinical decision-making.
Where a recommendation on this page describes use that is not within the FDA-approved indication, the page identifies it as off-label.
Schedules for the updated COVID-19 vaccines are based on age and immune status

The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America. It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated, and totally out of control.
It is a threat to our National Security, and must be stopped, NOW! Thank you for your attention to this matter.
