PC gaming survived the all digital future, so will consoles. I’m sorry but the data clearly shows PlayStation users vastly prefer digital games over physical. Gun and ball games dominate the market every year so of course the casuals prefer digital It sucks but maybe its not the end of the world

Prior to the launch of the PS4, less than 10% of PlayStation full game sales were digital. In the last quarter, 85% of full game sales were digital. This move guarantees the PS6 will ship without a disc drive and Sony is embracing an all digital future. (I'm surprised Xbox wasn't first)

In 2016, less than 3 of every 10 PS4 game purchases were made digitally. By this year, it was nearly 8 of 10 for PS4/PS5 That shift likely showed Sony it could do this, drop the cost of making/shipping discs, improve its software profit margins a bit, potentially de-emphasize a next-gen disc drive
