This hatchling encounters a fully grown Tyrannosaurus rex on a winter morning - 12 metres long and 8 tonnes. The little one will never attain such colossal stature - he has a gloriously different destiny ahead of him. #sciart #paleoart

A recently published study found that cooking meat did not give enough energetic gains to counter the cost of maintaining fire. The authors suggest that early fire use was more about meat preservation and protection against predators.

here's today's #Paleostream flocking sketches!!! today we sketched Amargasaurus, Bajadasaurus, Stegosaurus, and Acrocanthosaurus (very spine-heavy stream lol) #sciart #dinosaur #paleoart
an Amargasaurus crosses a river, as it reaches the bank of the other side it tilts its neck up, the water that pooled between its neck sails cascades out from the gap in the back back into the river from whence it came

Amargasaurus is a kind of sauropod dinosaur (typically long necked and usually large quadrupedal reptiles) and specifically a dicraeosaurid (a group of sauropods with proportionally short necks, long tails, and tall spines on their back) it possessed two parallel sails on its neck made of spines that were angled towards the back of the animala Bajadasaurus looks at the camera from a high angle, it sticks its tongue out towards the camera

Bajadasaurus is a kind of sauropod dinosaur (typically long necked and usually large quadrupedal reptiles) and specifically a dicraeosaurid (a group of sauropods with proportionally short necks, long tails, and tall spines on their back) it may have possessed two parallel sails on its neck made of spines that were angled towards the front of the animala Stegosaurus walks along the bank of a river it just exited, trees and ferns can be seen in the back

Stegosaurus was a kind of stegosaurian dinosaur (armoured quadrupedal reptiles that used either plates or spikes along the top of their bodies), Stegosaurus is the namesake of the group with large plates running along its back, and a four spiked weapon at the end of its tail known as a thagomizerduring a cloudy day where the sun is low in the sky, an Acrocanthosaurus stands in an open desert and defecates while staring towards the sun, it is littered with scars, including missing the majority of its left arm from a previous fight

Acrocanthosaurus is a kind of theropod dinosaur (a large and diverse group of bipedal reptiles that birds are also a part of), specifically a carcharodontosaurid (large theropods that all had tall sails on their back and thin faces with very sharp teeth) Acrocanthosaurus has a particularly tall sail even for carcharodontosaurids

A great float of Attenborosaurus swiftly navigate their pelagic environment in their hunt for fish. Attenborosaurus (named after Sir David Attenborough) is an extinct marine reptile that existed during the early Jurassic, it was a primitive pliosaurid, closer related to short-necked plesiosaurs.
A painting that depicts a pair of Attenborosaurus- long-necked marine reptile with flippers and tail flukes that they use to navigate the ocean and hunt fish. The pair is surrounded by ammonites, fish and other marine reptiles.

Results from tonight's Flocking #Paleostream! Definitely my favourite batch of sketches I've done during one of these so far, I'm pretty happy with all of them - no doubt helped by being all dinosaurs. #Art #Palaeoart
The sauropod dinosaur Amargasaurus in front view. Its head is slightly lowered, mouth open, with its neck reconstructed with a single large hump of flesh atop it. The piece is sketchy and black and white, with rough detailing and shading.A Bajadasaurus biting the neck of a rival. It is a sauropod dinosaur with a long neck (although comparatively short for a sauropod), the front of which has a large hump atop it, adorned with eye spots. Its rival is reeling back as the main individual rakes its teeth down its neck. Dust flies up at the bottom. The piece is in the same back and white sketchy style.A Stegosaurus missing the end of its tail. It is viewed slightly from behind, its neck curving back slightly. The neck has a small dewlap along the underneath, and the whole animal is adorned with its recognisable large plates. The open wound where the tail has been severed is dripping blood. The piece is in the same black and white sketchy style.A portrait sketch of the carnivorous dinosaur Acrocanthosaurus. Only the head, neck and shoulders are shown. Its body is side-on to the viewer, but its head is turning to face almost straight-on. It has a light covering of feathers along the spine. The piece is in the same back and white sketchy style.

Everyone's favourite hadrosaur. :} Parasaurolophus Ink on Fabriano Medioevalis, 132 × 85 mm.
Drawing in black ink of the hadrosaur, Parasaurolophus, walking over a patch of ferny groundcover. A trio of azhdarchid pterosaurs fly over in the distance. Parasaurolophus is one of the most well known hadrosaurs and has a distinctive, tubular head crest. The drawing is primarily in silhouette, with the white of the paper showing through in details such as the stripy markings on the hadrosaur's body. The artwork is very small and intricate, and is photographed with a penny for scale, together with the traditional Chinese brush used to draw piece.

according to the supreme court women are not oppressed by sexism, misogyny, men — patriarchy. they are oppressed by biology. women’s oppression is a natural state. that is not a victory for women’s rights. it’s another barrier. ‘gender critical’ is a far right cancer within feminism.

This is absolutely ruining the lives of a generation of trans people, and as a country we should be deeply ashamed. #lgbt #lgbtq
Transgender children in Wales are taking extreme and potentially dangerous measures including buying online homemade drugs or deliberately becoming anorexic because accessing help has become so difficult, a GP has claimed. She said children with gender dysphoria – who do not have the same level of access to health services as adults – are taking matters into their own hands rather than waiting until they turn 18 to access care.

The GP, who has experience of working with children, said the UK Government ban on puberty blockers has had a host of unintended consequences including teens travelling to Northern Ireland or spending thousands of pounds on treatment through private providers. She said bans on treatment for teens are not only creating a generation with poor mental health, and potentially physical problems, but leaving them only able to access treatment at a later stage when it is more invasive and costly.
