Sauropods: An Artistic History in Four Parts (Art by Charles Knight, Bill Berry, John Gurche, and @tessasaurus.bsky.social)
A group of wriggly-necked, blunt-skulled Brontosaurus wade in a lake while one emerges on the shore, dragging its lengthy tail behind it. A Stegosaurus approaches the lake, dwarfed by the long-necked herbivores.A towering Brachiosaurus with a drooping tail hauls itself out of the water, moving in a wide-legged waddle as rivulets of water drip down its hide. An impossibly tall, earthy-brown Barosaurus with elephantine skin rears high in the air, threatening to crush an encroaching Allosaurus. A young Barosaurus hides behind its tree-trunk legs, crouching in fearful trepidation. A dense conifer forest and gorgeous cloudscape extend behind.A low view of a colossal rearing titanosaur. Its heaving bulk produces a cloud of dusty sand as it lifts upward, revealing the complex array of scales covering its underside and limbs. A little feathered theropod looks on, looking comically tiny beneath the great mass of the colossus before it.

It's embarrassing that universities rather punish pregnant women than serial harassers. Information about notorious individuals goes through the grapevine, so if you're an early career, you learn about these transgressions the hard way.

Life Saving Tip: If people go out of their way to warn you against a lab. Listen. Numerous people can't independently make up the same story. What happened to them WILL happen to you. The university won't protect you. "I can stand my ground" You can't. Your reputation & mental health aren't worth it

To celebrate the announcement of my #specevo #dinosaur book this #FossilFriday, here's my giant Olymposaurus, a modern-day abelisaur. The proportions were predicted using real abelisaur scaling regimes: that short, upturned face, enormous thigh etc. are expected features of a 13 m abelisaur. #sciart
A huge carnivorous dinosaur with a short, deep face, tiny, handless arms and enormous muscled legs pins a juvenile long-necked dinosaur in a South American grassland. A large, deep gash on the constrained dinosaur hints at a wound on its abdomen, and blood on the snout of the carnivore suggests predatory activity. Other long-necks are visible in the distance, in front of a bank of clouds.

Today’s four random pieces of palaeoart: John Sibbick’s Tyrannosaurus and Edmontosaurus, Bernard Long’s Tanystropheus, @tessasaurus.bsky.social’s Allosaurus, and Brian Engh’s Megalonyx!
A sleek, scaly Tyrannosaurus corners a frightened Edmontosaurus in a densely vegetated forest, crashing through the ferny undergrowth.A Tanystropheus with glossy, greenish brown skin snags a fish while resting atop a seaside stone. Its long neck curves gracefully into a broad C-shaped curve. Algae-tinted rock formations serve as a backdrop alongside the billowing clouds of an encroaching storm.Portrait of a rough-scaled, black and yellow Allosaurus with thick keratinous crests and nodules on neck.A shaggy-furred ground sloth with a short, thick-nosed face browses on birch leaves. A pair of camels forage behind, and further still, a small group of mammoths stand. Braided streams and rolling hills stretch off endlessly in the distance.
