the whole thing is driven by a bunch of anti-semites who aren't known for functional literacy or numeracy, so it rests on the assumption that this time around the Jews would bend to pressure and flee without ever checking any facts or figures. irl, it would leave the Mizrahi in charge. big oof.

South Africa wound up 90% black. Uni-Israel will be in the region of 60% Jewish. so OSS creates a unified political system, where a 40% Arab minority tries to vote as a bloc. How do you think the Jewish population votes in this instance and who becomes PM? anyway, I'm sure that will turn out fine

making a rare I/P post with 10/7 coming up: the insanity of the far left's insistence on an OSS is that it's a weird revenge fantasy centered around another fantasy: "a lot of Palestinians come in, the uni-state becomes South Africa, lots of Jews leave or whatever (who cares), ???, profit" except

“If you are staring at an example of social disorder or social inefficiency, and the left refuses to explain either why it has happened or how they will fix it, then the right gets to point at someone in the immediate area and say, ‘That’s who did it.’” crazy how much Mamdani speaks my language

in a D+11 election on R+10 turf, candidate quality matters a lot in both directions, which is why the GOP nominating so many fantastic candidates and human beings like Paxton, Vivek, Darline, Marshall, Collins, etc. really helps them defending them all in a crisis

Alaska-Gov Safe D is a pretty hot take but I think likely D is extremely defensible; the difference is solely that Rs can swamp the state with money, one or two of the three of them could drop out, etc. If nothing changes the Dem will certainly win. Which makes Peltota 'likely' as well iyam

I wouldn't feel bad about making a decision a few years back based on limited info; whatever, no sense 2nd guessing *Now*, though, there is plainly a right thing to do and it isn't a class full of IEPs. "I would like my kid to learn as much information as anyone" is an important school criteria.

you don’t have to have the conversation on their terms and in fact you shouldn’t have the conversation on their terms more democrats should follow this playbook instead of existing in a constant defensive crouch

politics is not monocausal etc etc, but we def get a bit too clever by half trying to explain why people vote for right wing parties, especially in europe imo. 'they're against immigration so they vote for the most anti-immigrant party' explains a whole lot.

I know less than nothing about the Florida Dem race because it’s a pointless waste of time and money even in a D+11 year, which is exactly why it’s good that a DSAer wins that primary; they can all go focus on it and then we get a test case for exactly how well that stuff works in an R+20 state

The reason Ossoff is such a heavyweight if he runs is less that he's really good, although he seems to be; it's that there are only 3-4 white guys with any rizz or hope in the field (none of Kelly/Pritzker/Shapiro have any) and there's a *giant* audience for a non-Newsom one of those.

the actual lesson to take from MI/WI is that old Woke 1 takes are electoral poison, but a candidate with enough rizz (AES) or in a complete safe space (Chevalier) can overcome them to win while a lousy one in a swing state (Hong) will get owned ffs just shut up about the crazy shit

there are a bunch of DSA recruits who are going to make Dem lives hell by being cringe idiots (Hong), grifter weirdoes (formerly Bush), or future Tulsis in training (Chevalier). AES? Has the juice and is a rising star as soon as he wins. DSA is a mixed bag, not a fifth column.

putting down a marker on this: -in the near term anti-semitism from both the far left and the groypers is going to reach a peak not seen since pre-WW2 -that will then dwindle with whatever new normal happens with I/P -but the other racisms parallel to that (anti-Muslim, anti-Hindu) won't
