Many articles claims the MSNBC and CNN ratings slump is because progressives have tuned out because Trump is president. This can't possibly be the explanation, as The David Pakman Show just had the best January of any year, and are on track for the best February of any year.

One reason may be that allegedly non-Trump or non-Republican channels like MSNBC and CNN proved utterly fruitless in their attempts to "educate" or "inform" the public about the upcoming dangers should Trump be elected. So, what's the point in watching them now I'd much rather watch BBC News.

I still watch MSNBC. Just mostly The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell. I enjoy his take on politics. And he refuses to bend the knee. Trump will definitely go after him first, if or when he fully attacks the media.

I dunno about disengaged. I watch Rachel and Lawrence. I read a lot of news here on bluesky and am on several lists/subs that are very informative. I follow several local newspapers. Science magazines, the Atlantic. HRC, Reich, Krugman, VF, MJ, Wonkette for a more entertaining look.
