Susan Kramer Esq. @kramersus.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I have dropped down to the fast food dollar menu. I am cleaning up my eating anyway and won't need fries. The rest of it is going to be me cooking and prepping my meals for home. So much cheaper. (I love when someone cooks for me though.)💐Also, I have herbs in a window box and will plant tomatoes. 🍅 000
Ielle Lea 🇺🇦 🇨🇦 @iellelea.bsky.social · 28/06/2026When our foster kiddo 2y ago joined our family, we knew prices would go up if we ate out. We cut back 2 1/month. We paid maybe $40 for the 3 of us at most places. Ff today. It costs $70 after tip in all chain RR. Local we can get by on $50. Same food. We skip months now. We used 2 eat out Fridays 020
steveboos.bsky.social @steveboos.bsky.social · 28/06/2026The cheapest things I can buy for dinner that don't require cooking are limited. Under $20 it's basically a pizza, Chinese food that sucks, or a sub/sandwich from a locally owned place. None of it is healthy, but when I'm sad or depressed and cannot cook, those are my only options. 000
Chelle ✊🌻 *fElon hacked the election* @blueallylove.bsky.social · 28/06/2026It's especially bad for those of us stuck on SSDI through no fault of our own. We can't just "work harder" or "get a better career" or "budget better" because it's literally paycheck to paycheck already just for the basic living expenses. We're dying out here. I can't even go to Dr appts anymore 🥲 000
frisson310.bsky.social @frisson310.bsky.social · 28/06/2026We can no longer afford nice things. Good going Republicans. 000
Kathleenna @kathleenn.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I paid $12 for an 8" pizza (12" was $25) last night. I can buy a 12" frozen pizza for $4 . It's frozen pizza for me. Restaurant prices are insane. 140
Jetgurl @jetgurl.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I’ve just discovered keeping flatbread ingredients around is easiest for me, and big batches of food I can freeze. Especially because we are older, don’t eat as much, and we are tired. A lot. 😆 Totally relate to not wanting fast food especially at these prices. 010
Alfred E. Human @priboy.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Only advice is “fridge maxing”, any leftovers are 10x better than fast food anyway. Plus, you’ll be helping the planet. 080

Psychologist 4 Democracy @psychologist7.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Prepared food, including frozen sides, are sometimes affordable options when you've had enough with cooking assignments. Hang in there. We get it and you're not wrong. 010

Ted Roe @tedroe-uap.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Hear, hear... I rarely buy fast food. The other day I went to Taco Bell for the first time in years. 2 soft tacos, 2 pintos and cheese, 2 med drinks and a burrito = $26.70 I stopped at McDs while traveling and they wanted $14.55 for the two reg cheeseburger meal... just done w it.. waste of money. 000
darkdingo.bsky.social @darkdingo.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I feel ya, I can't even remember the last time I ate beef with it being 6-7$ a pound I just go pork or chicken now. Eating out is out the window 000
corviddone.bsky.social @corviddone.bsky.social · 28/06/2026In Canada and I feel this so hard. Historically, I am a bit of a foodie and dining was a big part of my personal life. Just a big part of pleasure and fun for me. But I've had to cut it out of my budget. And two of my favourite restaurants have closed in the past year. 180
caribbeanprince.bsky.social @caribbeanprince.bsky.social · 28/06/2026The fact that the average American feels this pain, and at the same time, they get distracted immediately after realizing it is scary. How far do the American ppl need to go to take the fight to the billionaires?! 000

onetiredlady.bsky.social @onetiredlady.bsky.social · 28/06/2026We were going to order cheap disgusting Domino’s the other night and between all the delivery fees and just the price in general it was gonna be $50. I’m not spending $50 for Domino’s Pizza. Are you insane? 290
Scott Buckner @scottybuck217.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I think the answer is “grocery store.” They even have French fries you can bake up. 000

Lizzy Pemberton @lizzypemberton.bsky.social · 28/06/2026We had empty the fridge breakfast burritos for breakfast. 1 egg, 1 sausage, leftover beans, leftover mashed potatoes, leftover Mac & cheese, hot sauce. That fed 3 of us. They were so good! Poverty meets innovation. 020

rascalsmom32.bsky.social @rascalsmom32.bsky.social · 28/06/2026The last time I ordered delivery pizza & wings, it was $60 all in. That’s ridiculous! So, sub roll, spaghetti sauce, mozzarella & pepperoni, all things I have in the frig. Cost under $5. 000
Janeen T 💜 @janeent.bsky.social · 28/06/2026Even the hot food section prices at grocery stores are out of control. Me & and older man were discussing how a slab of ribs use to be $9.99 now they are $15.99 and you are getting less. 070
