Getting involved in online games is like Martin Sheen in Apocalypse now. "I'm sitting in this hotel while Charlie's in the bush getting stronger". I like to be able to go back to a game months later and not worry that everyone got better while I took a break.

When I was in college the original XBox had the LAN hookup where you could play against others who were on your same network. That was revolutionary and fun. Now it's just trolling and weird nerds "grinding" so they can get a new outfit for their character.
