This just makes my brain reinvent “romantasy” as Ro-Mantasy, all fantasy romance stories featuring Ro-Man from Robot Monster.
A black and white publicity photo from the set of the film Robot Monster (1953) showing Ro-Man (the titular terror, looking like a man wearing a loose gorilla costume with a diving helmet and TV antenna on his head) holding a smiling woman in his arms, both facing the camera.

Assuming getting rid of means testing entirely isn’t feasible, we must abolish the Qualified Income Trust and the Special Income Level.

Replies are off, so here’s an example of how my kaiju movie firehose gets weird:
The first Varan the Unbelievable remake is a love letter to kaiju films by an accomplished genre director.
The second is a slow meditation on the pain of rebuilding following a natural disaster.
The fourth is a Bollywood historical epic.
The seventh is a stoner comedy that is controversial for its graphic nudity.
The tenth is a cell-animated, biting satire of life in the Canadian Arctic made by a First Nations crew.
Varan fights the Giant Claw in the eleventh (Varan x Claw: Decisive Aerial Duel), which gets banned in Turkmenistan for destroying the Neutrality Tower.
The fifteenth is filmed on an iPhone for the found footage feel.
All the while, Varan is a recurring character in the Skeleturtle Saturday morning cartoon.

It has been two years and Varan’s is the sixth-most productive kaiju series.

This weekend we ended up in Hershey Chocolate World while the park was hosting a Slayer concert that evening. The people watching was sublime, and leaving with the kids while the stadium rang out with thrash riffs and “WE ARE EXODUS, MOTHERFUCKERS!” was perfect. There is no sarcasm in this post.

I’m beginning to think it was a mistake to subscribe to multiple kaiju and toku reading lists on here, between DC’s Ultraman in the new Superman movie, scores of people making the same Musk:Trump::Godzilla:Kong joke, and unending, unbidden scaly erotica (good for you, it’s not for me).

Some day he will go play with the screaming yard birds.
A grey and white cat looks out a window at several chickens on a front porch.
