Gabrielle @gabbklein.myatproto.social · 14/12/2024I do digital comms for a public transit agency, and this reminds me of the people who seem to think that the dude watching porn with no headphones or the person who doesn't pay fare will change their behavior if we just put up the right sign. 2150

see schrader @seeschrader.bsky.social · 14/12/2024It’s the hand-underlined SIMPLY that would do it for me. 000
James Nisbet @bandit.nz · 14/12/2024bsky.app/profile/band...James Nisbet@bandit.nzThey installed more and more signs, until at one point there were 4 signs on and around the gate asking people not to slam it. Bemused I asked them why not just install a soft closer? As a demonstration I put a piece of cardboard in the latch to dampen the noise - problem solved. 050

Nefnoj @nefnoj.bsky.social · 11/01/2025I bet there are secrets you can find by turning it to lock. 000
Akansha @akanshaa.bsky.social · 15/12/2024This is how we are gonna label buttons now. "Please just press and hold and swipe to complete payment" "No don't just tap!! Press and hold and swipe!!" "Guyssss stop tapping" 030
Vicky Harp @vickyharp.com · 15/12/2024A place I used to work had signs on the stairwell doors reading "door may open suddenly" and it's been 20 years but I still think about this all the time. 040
fizzybuzzybeezy @fizzybuzzybeezy.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Those signs sort of make up the chorus and verse to a song 000
corn on macabre, haunted @catfort.fightins.online · 14/12/2024Wait are those style handles difficult for people? I thought they were very simple and straightforward, we never had issues with them at the places I've worked. But the people in the pic are having big problems, I wonder what's different 100

Slackermom @slackermom.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Why do they have doors like this! At an old job, we had this for the bathroom doors and goddamn if people didn’t turn the thing and when they left the bathroom, the door would be locked and we would have to wait for someone to fix it. Who the fuck makes these doors?! 080
RUN VDV @stowellym.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Insert Sean Bean “One does not just simply push to lock” meme here 000

Andrew Hammond @andax.tech · 14/12/2024I think there's a weird dynamic to the number of signs. Hypothesis: They were worried about only having one being ignored, but additional signs can overwhelm reducing the chance that I'll read any of them. Optimal is probably 2 to 3 signs with a large variance of design and colour between them. 110
E-Something @nullinterface.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Prior work location had a solid door with that could open without warning from the 'interior' side. Most intuited to keep out of its swing on the 'exterior' side or be prompt about transiting it. But a certain self-righteous demo did not, *choosing* to be struck by the door, repeatedly. 010

Peter Hilton @hilton.org.uk · 15/12/2024The underlined SIMPLY is classic passive-aggressive sarcastic technical writing, in the face of engineering refusal to fix a bad design 😬 250
