For You will be down for ~20-60 minutes - I will be upgrading my computer's ram from 96GB to 192GB. I've been hitting uncomfortably high memory usage levels (90%+) and it is time to bite the bullet. I bought an identical kit a year ago and the new kit is exactly 7x more expensive.

"glances" output with 96GB of RAM being 91% used

Understandable. And this DOES answer my question with DDR5 of "Buy 2nd of existing 32gb kit for more ram, or have to buy a BRAND NEW 64GB if I wanted to make the jump on 5, since I know its alot more temperamental then DDR4.

I could need some extra time to mess with the memory speed because 4 sticks of ram are supposed to default to 3600 MTS. My motherboard has a bios update available from May 2026 - will upgrade that as well.
