On set, he was the *nicest* guy. He was clear why he took the role (one of his kids just started college) but he was happy to spend time with the crew and the other actors. Wish I could have met him.

He did a bad, little horror movie called "Shadow: Dead Riot." My then-housemate was the costume designer on the film. She and Todd (and the SFX guy) ended up hanging out together quite a bit. Tony Todd liked her costume sketches so much that he asked for them at when they wrapped.

I think Rob Z's big failing is that he wants to make *horror* movies. He relies on the tropes and trappings of things that have come before, so he never rises above pastiche. "Lords of Salem" is the one that actually centers a character, so it works best.
