There's some... interesting stuff happening in the Vita Piracy community. What I will say is that you should not be fooled into thinking it's about AI vibe-coding. It is, instead, about a software developer who said racist things and then packed up his toys when he received the mildest of push back.

Falcom has taken down the fan-run 'Falcom Music Channel' (a YouTube page they'd even link to themselves!).🎹 Despite once lax rules for use, Josep (who ran the page) would also try crediting individual composers who are otherwise more simply credited as 'Falcom Sound Team JDK'.

Really sad to hear about what’s going on with the Falcom Music Channel run by a devoted fan. To my understanding, the channel was not monetized and therefore was fair play according to their own rules. I can only hope this was all a misunderstanding and we see a reversal soon.

Ah, Ys VIII. I think it may still be my favorite Falcom game. Just a masterclass action RPG. A game so good there is an entire plot point in the anime GAMERS! where two characters become friends purely because they both love Ys VIII.

Finally playing A Link Between Worlds on my 3DS and I definitely understand the hype. The 3D effect really makes it look like a little diorama. I usually hate getting lost in Zelda games, but this hits the perfect balance. Just naturally exploring transitions seamlessly into solving puzzles.

To this point, I will also reiterate that PS3 and PS Vita digital download preservation remains incomplete, particularly for Japanese games and DLC, where I imagine the bulk of that work has taken place abroad. This essentially gives a one-year deadline to plug some sizeable, yet quite tricky holes.

PC Engine Fan #6 (June 1993): a special feature on the then-upcoming Ys Ⅳ: The Dawn of Ys for PC Engine CD-ROM² This was one of the first looks the public had into what the anticipated game would look like on-screen. But how would it stack up to Ⅰ・Ⅱ and Ⅲ, we ask? Dogi looks very handsome here.

「総力特集」. The header for a special feature in this issue of PC Engine Fan. It is dedicated to Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys, a game not made by Falcom, but rather licensed out to Hudson Soft.

Noted here is the first reveal of a screenshot from Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys, showing off the top-down view, one that the caption remarks is similar to that of Ys I・II. Adol stands in a field that looks like a pumpkin patch.

As the article makes plentiful references to both Ys I・II and Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, it also takes a moment to actually show those games as well. Note the side-view unique to Ys III.

It's Dogi, sometimes referred to as Dogi the Wall-Crusher in English. The episode in which Dogi first makes his appearance in Ys I, breaking through a wall, is referenced in his brief bio blurb here, as appropriate.
