My problem with the Run The Dishwasher Twice principle is that sometimes the food is still there because the dishwasher /can’t/ get it, and so now you DO have to wash it by hand AND there’s no room in your sink because more dishes have piled up since you relied on a shitty dishwasher TWO TIMES

My take on the Sunscreen Denialism thing is basically that “This thing is personally unpleasant for me, thus I will retrofit ‘legitimate’ reasons why it’s ok for me to ignore it” is a very common thought process Just rationalizing away cognitive dissonance based on aesthetic/sensory reasons

Charles R. Knight was so great at granting his prehistoric animals a sense of life, but I'm also a huge fan of the landscapes that he put them in. They remind me of old paintings of the American West that attempted to blend the mythic and the knowable. It nurtures the subjects of the paleoart.
