Happy 40th Birthday to Bubble Bobble! (If Wikipedia's release date is correct; GameFAQs says August 4.) I played this SO MUCH in arcades with my brother. This defines the arcade era to me, before beat-'em-ups/fighting games. I love the NES one too, but its many sequels don't do much for me, sadly.
