Since 2002 the Amazon has lost primary forest larger than some countries. The Congo Basin still functions as a strong net sink while many other tropical forests weaken. Science is clear: keep the Congo intact and restore the Amazon before tipping points lock in.

The 'makes the whole world blind' addition is critique of retributive justice, and it tracks that it would be MLK, Gandhi or a non-violent resistance thinker who said it. That model is restorative justice. But neither make sense in the context!
