A sealed blister-card package of ten stainless-steel multi-purpose knives arranged vertically, photographed on a dark wood-grain surface. The knives have long, narrow silver blades and colorful plastic handles in green, red, yellow, cream, green, red, yellow, cream, green, and green, from left to right. The pale green cardboard backing is labeled “fuxwell®,” “Stainless Steel Multi Purpose Knives,” “Made in Germany – Dishwasher Safe,” and “Registered Trademark,” with additional small manufacturing text along the bottom. The packaging is slightly worn and creased, with clear plastic covering the knives.

Gardens -yet another V.Long #poem by~MischaS💞✍️for #BraveWrite #Azalea This is so #FreeForm as to be absurdly so: Its rhythm & rhymes “all over the place,” as many might say. Gardens

‘Twas April - banks of bright Azaleas'
Cascading roseate blooms
A coverlet of colourful flowers
Spilt down to the gardens' floor...

Your hand in mine, We paused upon the dark stone
terraced stairs, gazing in wonder,
Breathing in Spring's hopeful, perfumed air...
That morning all around us swelled with Promise, newly grown...
We revelled in the Present, our Future yet unknown...

We strolled the mansion's sprawling gardens, just we two alone,
Mindful we'd paid for the privilege of wandering...
If only for a few hours...on an April morn:
Such grand and glorious places we could never hope to own...

Then, as we reached a Sun-tipped glade,
I pulled you close for a kiss...
Beneath an ancient oak's green shade
At last I knew true bliss.
Between the sweetness of your lips,
Azaleas' blush upon your face,
And all We realised at once with that warm embrace,
Suddenly, I thought myself the richest man on Earth,
What we shared that day I knew was beyond all measureable worth...

Now, as years of changing seasons have since flown
In with'ring days, I find myself thinking back to that time and place...
I gaze upon you sleeping, Azaleas' bloom still on your face,
In your sighs I hear the breath of Springs' once promised past...
Though our abode is humble, I count myself most blest:
For Love's garden blossomed richly; rooted in our Hearts, it lasts...
© ~Mischa Sarcassian💞 30 September 2026Photo - not our own & We are sorry we do not know its attribution - of the terraced staircase at Winterthur Gardens, Delaware. Here Azaleas of a deep rose hue cover the hillside beside the staircase on the left. More Azaleas of white and light purple are blooming below, as are many other flowers & shrubs. There is a small footbridge which (then, at least ) crossed a Koi pond, we think. At the top of it all, though, is the mansion/museum of Winterthur, the centre of a vast estate and endless acres of various gardens. It was built/founded by the very wealthy DuPont family (as in DuPont chemicals/tires?) We visited Winterthur Gardens more than once, both times it was very beautiful, though that was decades ago & we know all has changed a great deal in the decades since. It is costly to visit, but at the right time of year, it can be a magical and beautiful place, divided into several gardens, woodlands & areas designed to appeal to just about anyone’s tastes, from lush places like this to the Reflecting Pool which is below where these steps lead; and gardens specifically for children to play in and explore. -tam💞

Palicourea elata #poetry #vss365 #bequest It was too long so I cut it into two screenshots
Palicourea elata

On Wednesdays we wear pink
or orange, as it's the new black, I can't recall
she pondered trying to make the revolution
fashionable and repostable

When a boy mantis likes a girl mantis
very much, he will bequest a courtship dance
& as they are mating, she will rip his head off
causing vigorous efficiency

We should bring back copulatory suicide
relayed to her husband, whose smile worried
after learning Yuka Takaoka via crime podcast
and watching Lizzie Borden on Netflix

Diminishing returns in visual fidelity
as I think about Lara Croft's pixel assets
then about Hellen Keller and Frida Kahlo
and last night's call with Patient Zer0

Anger is a valid response to millenia
of systemic abuse, minimized into aggressive
pellets of micro-plastics, taking Cornell notes
on essays about Proserpina's rape

Is this man going to hurt me?
Do I deserve it if i anticipate and predict it?
What if the blueprint for eutopia resides within
a woman who was safe as a girl?

I anticipate the male gaze's sigh
this isn't poetry, it doesn't even rhyme
when I've touched my clit, then wept for
mutilated and trafficked children

No that'll never work, it's too long
and where's the part about stroking a man's
ego— moaning God, fuck your patriarchy!

Ars Poetica

Oh, that I would hear, with the
ears of Soul, what is trying to
be said, (again) instead of with
these ears of mud. That, with
cooling breath, I curate collaged
assemblages, and incubate them
until they become themselves
That I be granted, the grace to
build with my hands, bespoke
load bearing armature, capable
of carrying, that which needs
saying, in ways that it can be
heard. If need be, that I toil
and never toil for toils sake
Let me tread gently. For it to
be vital, help me to get out of
its way. Let me remember
that I am not it, it is not me
Oh Love, let me love it out
into the world, and then, have
me sleep this night, to dream
that I am there, albeit briefly

The shine of bronze with luscious copper hues
Reflected in the waters of the lake
Would cause even the toughest beast to quake
As comes the armoured fowl, Aspartagoose

With leafy spear tucked beneath its wing,
(A stalk of iron hard asparagus)
The shine of bronze with luscious copper hues
Will serve as all its victims' last warning

So should that ever fall into your sight,
The shine of bronze with luscious copper hues
You ought to run, or else prepare to loose
At least a dozen fingers in the fight.

The shine of bronze with luscious copper hues
As comes the armoured fowl, Aspartagoose.

lost loves

drop of shell,
a human fell;
show & tell
& tell & tell
or dry up like
lonely inkwell.
no matter,
no reprieve;
lost loves
leave us
deceived.
thought all
was well,
“I believed!”
despite what’s
left evidentiary.
lost to asymmetry,
done in by more
than just memories;
“please,” they call out
“remember me.”

My first contribution to #PoetsOfDoom #Arsapoetica contains instructions, and an origin story for my own form of Sonnet which I have been working on. Feel free to give it a go yourself #MeyersoneanSonnet #Sonnet #poetry
I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains?
And so, dissected this once perfect form
Restructured it, with brand new shape reborn
A potent image brought around again.

My pen a scalpel, slicing through the ink
I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains?
That rhyme scheme too, it might as well be changed
Is nothing sacred? What would Shakespeare think?

And so, I take this form and make it mine
All sparked by one small niggle in my brain
I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains
That shift; each stanza, downward by one line?

I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains?
A potent image brought around again.
