I'm just a lowly art historian, but in moments like these I always think back to one early sign of Trump's wanton, pointless destructiveness: his demolition of the priceless & irreplaceable Art Deco relief sculptures on facade of the Bonwit Teller building, which he tore down to build Trump Tower

That’s a hard agree from me. I am genuinely astonished at the number of otherwise sensible commentators who still discuss his latest wild actions as if they’re within the parameters of the normal policy making process.

Amid the justified furore around the future of the Kennedy Center why is no one talking about the weirdness of this picture? Why is the President being shown this giant image? Can he not image what a newspaper headline might look like? Can he only make decisions with the aid of large pictures?

One thing that gets my goat after moving out of London is inaccurate times on shows. Tonight’s performance at Soho Place advertised as 2h30. Actually 2h47. It’s the difference between enjoying the end of the show and fretting about whether you’ll miss the last train instead.

Standing on an absolutely rammed SNCF train, people sitting on the floor, a broken loo door sliding wide open every so often. But of course this is the sort of thing that only happens on British trains…

Eurostar have changed my train time this Sunday, putting it back by 30 mins which means I’ll miss my last train home in the UK. Asked if I could transfer to earlier train and was told I’d be charged £50! Utterly appalling customer service.

Badenoch just said, on national TV, that UK's carbon emissions have gone up "in total" because of the 2008 Climate Change Act. They have, in fact, declined by more than half. Did #Kuenssberg break in to point this basic fact out? Of course not

This is so, so bad. She’s taken the very narrow point that domestic drilling may result in oil and gas with a slightly lower carbon footprint than some imports and extrapolated it out to make sweeping claims about UK emissions increasing that are entirely false. So deeply unserious.

If you totted up the sums for every financial scandal in British politics (£2k per parliamentary question for cash-for-questions, £200k for Johnson’s No 10 renovation, the cost of that very nice campervan) even with second tier stuff like Rayner and Polanski, would you get close to £5mn *in total*?
