On the book jib, I just finished Ben Apatoff's 33 1/3 book about Body Count's self-titled debut. It's a really good entry! It focuses both on the novelty of (and response to) an all-black punk/metal band and the insanely aggressive law enforcement/governmental response to the controversial "Cop Killer" track. It also discusses the band's mix of styles, the lyrical matter of all the songs, and the band's post-debut career.

The book includes a lot of quotes from multiple band members and I gotta say, Ice-T seems like a really intelligent guy. A passionate and angry guy too, but very smart.

The book also includes quotes from fans of the band including Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, Duff McKagan and so on.

If you like the album at all, I recommend the book!
