Shout-out to libraries. Where else can you just chill outside with a 4yo as you pretend to be magic fairies careening about a large grassy area, then pop indoors for air conditioning, coloring pages, and benches to read four books in a row that you then get to take home, no charge? Libraries rule.

Rewilding isn't a side project of the climate fight. It is the fight. This great man makes the case plainly: "the rewilding of the world will suck enormous amounts of carbon from the air and lock it away in expanding wilderness.” That's not a hope, it's an observed pattern across ecosystems.

In Ireland's sheep-shagged mountains, the only places you'll find tiny remnants of the mind-blowingly rich rainforest that once prevailed is on escarpments and other out-of-reach spots. To receive farm payments, farmers have no other choice. In essence, your taxes are directly pushing extinction.

The oxygen that keeps us alive comes from natural ecosystems: half on land, half at sea. It's not complicated: we are TOTALLY dependent on the living world. Yet it's still treated as nothing but 'resources', to exploit and destroy for profit.
