I saw Akira for the first time in an Amsterdam movie theater in 1989 or 1990, capable of displaying the film’s broad color range, and it totally blew me away. The iconic visuals, magnificent animation, great characters, gripping story, superb soundtrack… A true classic, and my favorite anime. 💚

also, apropos of nothing, i hope you stub your toes and fall down stairs. "disliking a wiki's policies/admin's behavior" and expressing that on bsky does not mean i am going to personally start ddosing their site. what the fuck is wrong with you.

Arrow (discord roles "StrategyWiki" / "Wiki Staff" ):
My concern is mostly whether or not this will result in attacks on strategywiki. If they do start, at least now I'll know who and what wiki is responsible...

Poster for the 1981 film adaptation of the 1978 play "First Monday in October"—named for the first day of the US Supreme Court's fall term. This poster includes photos of the movie's stars, Walter Matthau and Jill Clayburgh, with a caricature of the Supreme Court justices and Clayburgh's character dangling from two ends of Lady Justice's scale. geoDefense was an old iOS and WP8 game that didn't survive the 64-bit transition, and is now unplayable on modern phones. It was almost lost too, but both it and Swarm have been archived fortunately. Meanwhile shout out to Moon Child still working on iOS 6 all the way up to iOS 27

For all the talks about Video Game preservation, I feel like mobile games often get left out of the conversation. Once their service ends, most are just gone. A few get lucky enough to get an offline version, and fewer still get remade into console games, but the rest become lost media. (1/2)

With a lack of games media jobs in the space right now... if you want to get started just start. Start a blog, start a YouTube channel, do whatever and just start putting your thoughts out there about games or stuff. Don't wait around for opportunities, go just attempt to make it happen.
