Great idea on the window! I just opened mine and once I got over the sudden brightness (is there a way to let in air and sound without all the annoying "sunlight"?), it was nice to feel the slight breeze and hear the sounds of my neighborhood (largely traffic and barking dogs).

It’s very simple. A reality TV host became dictator because he turned down a role for Sharknado 4 and that’s why the king of outer space, who cheats at Diablo, got to kill Africa. Now the economy is controlled by a sex cult that has something to do with Harry Potter fanfic because of robots.

I love seeing happy puppies. ❤️ We took our three on a similar mission today. 😊

We took the puppies out for an adventure today. There have been so many vet trips in the last 6 months or so that we decided they needed to get in the car for something fun. We ended up at Indian Creek Reservoir, where Kippy and I got married and where Ginger treed a bobcat the last time we visited.
A photograph of what I think is a white-breasted nuthatch on a pine tree branch with blurry pine needles and sky in the background.A photograph of 3 dogs and a person walking away on a road with blurry pine trees and sagebrush in the background. The person is my wife Kippy and is wearing a blue-grey t-shirt and jeans. The dogs to her left are Gerald (black lab mix) and Cedar (we think a Dutch shepherd) and to her right Ginger (we think a pitsky).A photograph of 3 dogs and a person walking toward the photographer with old burned trees and sagebrush in the background. Preparing myself for an upcoming trip.
A photograph of a bottle of IRN-BRU next to a glass mug with ice cubes in front of 3 Scotland guide books on a natural wood surface.

The books are "A Photographer's Guide to the Isle of Skye" and "A Photographer's Guide to the Scottish Highlands" both by Eden Kaelberg and "Wild Guide Scotland" by Kimberly Grant, David Cooper, and Richard Gaston.

I'm traveling for work and came across this crosswalk on my way back from dinner. Happy Pride!
A photograph of a crosswalk in a old small-town "downtown" area painted as a Progress Pride flag. It's kinda hard to see (it's a really wide angle shot so most of the detail is in close stuff), but the rainbow at the far end turns into a kinda cool spiral.

I understand it's just a flag with a copy of the purchase confirmation, but nobody knows what that actually looks like.

Agreed. I grew up on the south edge of Northern Virginia and this phrase was very common when I was young. It wasn't until I was in my early teens that I realized what it really meant. I hadn't thought about the actual words... I guess I just thought they were there for some sort of emphasis.

A thing learned this week: Neanderthals are named after the Neander Tal (Neander Valley) which is named for 17th century poet Joachim Neander whose original family name was classicized into Greek from the original "Neuman" which means "New Man."

I took a ride in the hills above our neighborhood this afternoon. The remains of a storm are still trying to get over the mountains, and the wildflowers are amazing.

The sky is blue, but filled with puffy clouds, some of which are just coming over the ridge and raining in the far distance.A photo of a single-track trail running through sagebrush on a hillside. I think either works. It's a word that most of us first encountered while reading. Since English is at least 3 languages in a trench coat so rules are really suggestions, we each had to make our own best guess on how to pronounce it.

Today's view from where I work.
A photograph of a snowy high-desert valley. In the foreground is sagebrush and a light (1-2 inches) layer of snow. Beyond that is a valley with a medium sized city (Reno, NV) and snow covered mountain range beyond that. The sky is bright blue with big puffy clouds.
