I get why GenAI software dev would be cool if it didn't come at the heels of three years of layoffs (also eliding all the non-software GenAI concerns)

It has been wild watching many of the big Rust community figures miss this. From my perspective, most of the craft of software development is being eliminated and replaced by factory processes. The end-result, if successful, is that most devs will be fired and most of the rest will be paid less.

The reason Trans Panic has felt extraordinarily similar to Gay Panic is because it's *literally* the same. Not ideologically similar. It's the same organizations funded by the same places, run by the same people, using the same scripts. And those people/organizations haven't STOPPED being homophobic

We're seeing a lot of supportive energy from WNBA players and coaches, but it's being framed as a reaction to one person's bigotry, which she is using to stay relevant. I don't think this would completely solve the problem, but I think it would go a long way.

I think the only way to avoid elevating bigots is to be proactive about stating your values. As a trans woman who loves women's sports, the past several years have felt increasingly quiet on calls to include trans women, which has opened the door for conservatives to claim to speak for all women.

Finally finished poking my feelings about the Prairieland trial into a piece of fabric
