Resident Evil was so much fun. Kinda wish there'd been more people at my showing because I imagine it's even more fun with the reactions of a larger audience. But yeah it's been a while since I saw a film where it left me feeling a certain vibe for many hours after it finished. That's the good stuff

Caught this movie last year around this time. It's pretty good.

My review of The Clans Heir is a Trans Woman. "I'm sad that it took me this long to discover the existence and online availability of a trans Yakuza dramedy. This is my movie, it was made for me. Or, well, it's close. It's a little confused, but it's got the spirit. I'd change some things. Fewer slurs, for example. Less misgendering. But it means well. It's like the director (who is also the leading man) was trying to make the most badass "I'm just a really good ally" statement he could with his chosen art form. I kind of love him for that. We need more trans stories told my trans creatives, but sometimes the cis make a good gesture of support and allyship that cannot be discounted, and sometimes that gesture looks like dressing in drag and butchering some bad guys with a blade."

The film is written, directed, and co-stars Hitoshi Ozawa, a legendary Yakuza actor who is a villain in Yakuza 0, who got his fellow legends involved. This was his passion project inspired by one of his best friends, a trans woman, and he worked with the community for representative casting.

when my masc lesbian aunt died, women just kept coming, screaming, crying, and saying they were her wives. Eventually we just had to start telling them to join the others. They were all devastated to learn about each other. Except for one who came in, kissed her dead mouth and showed us all that they had matching tattoos. She actually won all the mourning wives over and they all agreed she was the wife. It was so weird.

Did not expect more than a few people to see this but yes it really happened, yes it was insane

After loving The Ghost in the Shell and wishing there was more to watch, I'm trying out Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It's not bad! Sometimes it feels like it's a little edgy for the sake of being edgy, but whatever. It's dark sci-fi with a healthy dose of hyper-violence. Consider me entertained.
