I went to a shoe store to figure out what size my (12 month old) daughter's feet are and the sales associate went "Oh, probably 1, like the newborn size." I, somewhat skeptical, asked if she had like, a measuring tool, and she took me over to a mat, where she said she was probably a 7(!!)

I really liked Dan Brown’s books when I was a tween/early teen. I loved the puzzle-solving and mystery and it had just enough action to feel a little edgy and uncomfortable. I knew people generally regarded them poorly but I didn’t really know why. They seemed really great to me.

Having a migraine when you’re visiting family is kind of bad timing because you’re losing rare socializing time, but also there are so many people here to take care of my daughter and I can hide in a blackout tent so who’s to say if things are good or bad.

We have a little blackout tent we put on top of our daughter’s pack and play when we’re traveling. It’s super useful, especially when we’re sharing a hotel room with her. It turns out it has a second use of giving me a place to crawl into and hide when I have a migraine.

One of the most effective things I have done for my adhd is break doing dishes into two steps: put all the dishes where they should be (cabinets, dishwasher, by the sink to be washed, etc), and then actually wash the dishes. Altogether? Impossible. Each step? Trivial.

Almost everyone involved with making a game is already paid when it ships. Unless it's a studio with profit-share (very rare), nobody who works on a game will see a cent from its sales. Buying an indie game keeps the studio alive in the future, buying a AAA game is paying the publisher only.

Quick notice that you can turn Twitch’s genAI training off from your phone. You should do this even if you don’t stream just so Twitch gets hard data on how much people don’t like this!!!
