Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 20/12/2025Me: Nah I don't really read horror. I feel like real life is horrific enough, ya know? Also me: What's that? You need ideas for details for your DnD campaign? Have you considered body horror? Gore? Maybe a little existential horror, as a treat??? 030
Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Honestly, I would rather just sit on hold while I have the motivation to accomplish $goal. 020
Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 11/12/2025When I use a chatbot, I wander through a hedge maze of generative AI suggested, loosely-related help articles before eventually getting dumped in a form that puts in a ticket. The ticket becomes an email thread purgatory where each support response is "guaranteed within 3 business days" 110
Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Lately when I pick up the phone and call someone I get to "goal accomplished" way faster than sending an email. The hold music is still annoying but I personally can cope with it, for a good cause. 110
Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Maybe the types of companies that had horrific phone service have en masse moved over to chat/email generative AI customer support only? Maybe VoIP phone services have improved? Or quality audio hardware has gotten cheaper? Maybe I mostly use B2B customer support for work and it's alway been better? 100
Victoria @vkauff.bsky.social · 11/12/2025In a baffling turn of events, I have somehow become a person who strongly prefers customer service via the phone vs any other form of CS interaction. 120
