Beautiful piece of antique cartography from an 1895 ed. Charles Gaskell Family & Business Atlas of the World that I picked up at a yard sale 2 summers ago. Stabilized the volume, which is currently sitting in an acid free archival box, pending donation to a map library, as it’s apparently rareish.

Over 54% of US librarians currently have a Master’s degree or PhD, and over 80% of librarian job openings require an MLS/MLIS degree. School and Children’s librarians often require additional certifications. Librarians are highly educated professionals with complex jobs that need appropriate pay.
