Another query: Drivers are only required to yield to pedestrians under the new road user regulations. "pedestrians" are defined in the main Act as people on foot only. So what about people in wheelchairs, mobility scooters, etc? novascotia.ca/just/regulat...

Provisional queries & concerns: - Clarification needed regarding the new Vulnerable Road User offences - Disabled cyclists need not dismount at crosswalks, but drivers only required to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks - Dooring offences don't mention cyclists, only "traffic" - No photo radar

My current model for Quinpool is Saint Denis (Montreal). Having been there more recently than this pic, I can tell you it's even better now that the trees and gardens have grown.
Before and after image of Rue Saint Denis in Montreal. In both, like Quinpool, it has a wide total width and a low-rise row structure in each side with lots of shops. Before, it has 5 lanes, 2 of which are being sporadically used for parking. After, it has 2 car lanes separated by a periodic garden median facilitating midblock crosswalks, plus two bike lanes that are well-separated from the motor vehicle lanes with periodic concrete curbs.

We hope this person recovers from their serious injuries. As we explained last week at the Transportation Standing Committee meeting, parking lot crashes involving pedestrians should be included within municipal reports and open data. They can be prevented by taking action.

City staff have new software that can track close calls and driving incidents that are reported to 311, so for now any time you see anything you don’t feel comfortable reporting to police, I suggest shooting off an email to 311. We’ll see where that leads.
