You can make stuff that kind of sucks, yknow? You can remain incredibly mid forever, it's allowed! You're not stuck deciding between super intense honing your craft vs. never drawing again. It's fine to be just ok at stuff!

whoo boy I finished FFVII Rebirth. as someone who grew up on the OG it was an absolute slog to get through the mainline content. I would even say Aerith’s [end] just did not hit like the original did. I think I need to lay off Final Fantasy for a while, finishing XVI was also like pulling teeth.

It’s crazy to just sit and listen to folks try to lecture me on something I’ve had training (and additional research) in for like 6 years and I just say you can believe what you want but that’s not my expert recommendation. I do not want to teach anymore to closed minds lmao

Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.

Just make it exist first.

Not Japan-related, but since we all need a distraction from The Horrors, Takaya Suzuki points out a study that examined 408 sleeping cats and found the majority (65%) curl leftwards. I'm not sure how useful this information is, but...it's yours now.

4 panel comic

P1: a right hand draws a wavy stroke on a sketchbook page. A caption box up top reads "draw"

P2: the word "CREATE" dominates a panel with a black background, forming in the negative space. Various small shapes surround it.

P3: a lone simplified humanoid figure is on the bottom right of a another panel with a black background. A thought bubble forms above their head, the words "if not for others, then at least for yourself" within.

P4: The Earth dominates the bottom of the panel, with a sliver of space above it. Clouds swirl and boil across the Earth, which is the only element on the entire page coloured a pink-red. A caption box above reads "now, more than ever"
