Block Club's article says it'll be included in the automated enforcement pilot “The lane will be painted red and will be included in the city’s Smart Streets Pilot Program to enforce the new bus-only lane.”

My neighborhood association president wanted to downsize, so he sold his house & applied to 3 apartments. All 3 turned into a bidding war. He lost each time and had to move out of the neighborhood. Our neighborhood assoc. president was priced out of our neighborhood. Think about that.

"Approximately 1,490 CTA buses on 21 different routes use at least part of the new dedicated bus lane." I agree the lane should be extended, but a bus only lane in such a high visibility and traffic area will do wonders for setting precedent

At least 5 people on foot, bike, or e-moto have been killed by drivers on Archer in the 23rd Ward since 2020. While local Ald. Silvana Tabares has an office at Archer/Laramie, where a memorial for Juan Martin Márquez, 54, was held Saturday, she didn't attend. chi.streetsblog.org/2026/09/29/a...

It's basically a way of investing in debt. Like war bonds were the US government letting citizens buy up their debt and provide some safe return. Treasury bonds are the same concept just with general US debt - you buy a bond and the Treasury promises to pay it back with interest (the yield rate)

Bonds: How They Work and How to Invest
A bond, offered by most brokerage platforms, is a fixed-income investment issued by a borrower to an investor with regular interest payments to the bondholder.

I’m repping @climatecabineteducation.org at the Re-Amp annual meeting this week and, oh boy, this statistic is horrible: 1 in 10 midwestern earn under $15k but spend $4k on transportation. We desperately need to invest in cheap electric transportation and climate friendly transportation choices.
A presentation screen displaying the following statistic: Nearly 1 in 10 Midwesterners makes less than $15,000 before taxes. On average, those people spent over $4,000 on transportation.

Our neighbors came together to honor Juan Martín Márquez Luna by placing a ghost bike at the corner of Archer Laramie—where he was tragically killed last week 🤍 Juan Martin’s family spoke powerfully about their father: the person he was, the example he set for them, and how much he will be missed.

The Electrify Chicago property types homepage showing multifamily buildings with 1.9 million tons of CO2 emitted and 30.8% of total emissions, then K-12 buildings with 6.4% of total emissions and office buildings with 20.2% emissions and college with 4.7%Lower down on the page showing data centers with 4.2% of total benchmarked emissions (marked #7 highest) and movie theaters with 0.1% and museums with 0.6% and financial office buildings with 0.7%
