Bizarre things that happened in your assembly: A neighbour of one of the teachers gave us a five-minute lecture about kwashiorkor which involved him reciting a list of his favourite words (yes, ‘kwashiorkor’ was one of them). Included the unforgettable phrase, “Diarrhoea, another beautiful word.”

My train home from work got as far as Didcot Parkway before stopping and failing to move again because there was a gas leak near the track between Didcot and Reading. This is the second week in a row that train issues have caused me problems with getting to BSL class.

Attempt to be normal at my university friend's wedding was hampered slightly by my shoes (at least 15 years old, I think) disintegrating en route to and then during the event, age and rain taking their toll.

We are off to a wedding. When I saw Rob in his suit I commented on how handsome he was by saying it was like being married to Don Draper. At his concerned look: "It's like being married to Don Draper in every way!".

If I were a veterinary surgery I wouldn't have a loud coffee machine in the waiting room near where nervous cats are sitting. (There is a little cat nook, walled off slightly from the main area with dogs, and with Feliway and perches to put their carriers on. All good! But it was loud.)

While buying a "happy wedding day" card I saw one that just said "Wedding Regret" on the front. It was to regretfully decline a wedding invitation, but I feel it could be misinterpreted. (Present it to the couple if you don't think they should be getting married!)
