Having done both, it's not easy to collect a lot of observational data, identify a good DID, and convince reviewers it's causal. Way easier to run another convenience sample experiment, esp. w/out preregistration. 130

Without pre-registration (not a big barrier IMO) and with convenience samples, we risk amplifying noise and increasing publication bias toward significant results. Btw similar developments are happening in observational research. The solution could be collaboration & pulling resources. 000
