I wonder how common it is for today's kids to have chores at home. It was very common when I was a kid. My parents took it to the extreme as they didn't believe in toys, play, free time really so I earned my keep working in the house & yard and I picked crops & worked odd jobs. I learned a lot. --->

Insurance in the US largely amounts to a money-making scam. Most people can't afford insurance of various types and in addition, they can't reasonably trust the insurance to cover them the way it should when disaster strikes AFTER they have faithfully paid insurance premiums over time. Wasted money.
