I think the flip side happens way less often tbh. Maps should just be normal sized. A ranged character having to disengage and run for 1 turn to gain distance and a fighter having to use their entire action economy for 3 rounds just to get close enough to swing are not comparable imo

In dnd, i dont think it's a good idea to start an encounter with a huge map and your pcs really far from the enemies, at least not if you have melee fighters. The spell casters can probably do stuff, but the melee characters are going to have to waste their turns moving and it feels unfair.

we’re at costco and my husband ordered a hot dog from the cashier and the guy said “what flavor” and my husband said wat and costco guy said “jk there’s only one flavor. it’s hot dog” and my husband said dammit you did this to me last time and the costco cashier collapsed in giggles
