I have a lot of respect for people who enjoy creating a build that plays itself but that's very much not for me. In much the same way as incremental/idle games or (some) TCGs, If my engagement is done at the build phase I feel like I'm not really getting value for my time.

This. And a lot of the "Is college even worth it?" conversations would have a very different answer if a college education was reasonably priced. Becoming a heart surgeon in the USA can cost you $550,000+ in US private school tuition🤯, but under $3,000 in public universities in the Philippines.🤷🏿‍♂️

A thing I learned not too long ago is that when an LLM selects a token that leads it down an incorrect path (factually), it has no way to back up, or even know that it should back up, it's just on to the next likely bit. Literally every LLM is just posting their way through it. What an image.

i get why AI is so depressing to me. because covid already shrunk my world to almost nothing, where almost all of my life revolves around socializing and watching videos on the internet (which is being ruined by AI) and creating creative works through coding (which is being ruined by AI), often using open source tools and libraries (which are being ruined by AI)

i already had so little and now even that is being rotted away before my eyes
