Went to a local TCG store the other night with a friend. I mentioned to the staff that I was starting to plan for a Hope Estheim commander build. Not only did they find me the cards I was looking for, they also made a ton of helpful recommendations and even reviewed my deck list and gave feedback!

26. Resident Evil (2002). In terms of overall aesthetic, the vibes were immaculate. The characters look gorgeous and there’s such palpable tension and unease in the air. That said, gameplay did not hold up super well.

At the risk of overstating it, this may connect to a Japanese sensibility for leaving room for the imagination – for appreciating things that aren’t shown or said. Somewhere along the line, my Catania went from being kind of okay to being downright scary.
