Democracy is the way. Truth and justice matter. Russia can end the war today by leaving Ukraine. Less proud to be an American than I used to be. I really thought we were better than this. #IStandWithUkraine #NAFO Fellas fan

A Trump supporter punched a protester wearing a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt in the face at Trump’s rally in Youngstown, OH. According to Mediaite, police removed the protester while the attacker stayed and “high-fived other attendees”. This is disgraceful and sums up the entire MAGA movement.

What's the difference between:

A: Transwomen
B: Women

Let the "tolerant" crowd explain this one. I'll grab
popcorn.

Trans is an adjective. It's a descriptor. Like tall or fast
or smart. A trans woman is just a woman who was
assigned male at birth and then transitioned at some
point in her life. Just like a tall woman is a woman
who is taller than the average woman. It's just an
adjective. It's really not that complicated.

For instance you are a stupid, bigoted man. Whereas
I am a cool and nice man. We're both men. I'm just
kind of a better type of man.

Today I learned that The Breakthrough Institute filed an amicus brief on behalf of Suncor in Suncor Energy v. Boulder County—the case heard by SCOTUS last week where CO seeks to hold fossil-fuel companies accountable for allegedly deceiving the public about the danger of climate change. And...
Unlike many organizations that deny climate change outright, the Breakthrough Institute accepts the science while opposing efforts to hold fossil fuel companies legally accountable for it. The Institute has become one of the leading advocates against what it calls "climate lawfare," arguing that climate lawsuits are an improper attempt to regulate energy policy through the courts instead of legislatures. Breakthrough characterizes these
lawsuits as anti-democratic and urges judges to reject them. In 2026, it filed amicus briefs in Lighthiser v. Trump, a lawsuit brought by youth climate activists seeking to
challenge the Trump administration's executive orders expanding fossil fuel development, and Suncor Energy v. Boulder County, a U.S. Supreme Court case in which Colorado communities seek to hold ExxonMobil, Suncor, and other fossil fuel companies accountable for allegedly deceiving the public about the dangers of climate change. In Suncor, Breakthrough sided with the fossil fuel companies, arguing that attribution science cannot reliably link individual companies' emissions to specific climate harms and that state climate lawsuits
improperly interfere with national energy policy.

Trump hates me personally. Now he’s taking it to the Supreme Court
When I tell people that Donald Trump hates me, they often assume I mean it in a generic sense — that he hates Democrats and people who fight him in court. No, I correct them: he hates me personally.

Paxton was partying in Dubai with a donor who was fleeing the US on health care fraud (like the real kind of fraud, involving millions embezzled from a hospital, not the stuff JD Vance says he is investigating).
As fireworks exploded over the Burj Khalifa skyscraper to welcome 2025, Paxton and his girlfriend Tracy Duhon watched from a luxury high-rise balcony full of people, according to a video of the gathering reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, details of which were contained in court filings and confirmed by people familiar with the matter.

Among those at the event with Texas’ top law-enforcement official were two Americans who had been indicted months before on federal healthcare-fraud charges but failed to return to the U.S., Anosh Ahmed and Sameer Suhail, according to the court records and people familiar with the matter. Ahmed, a healthcare executive, had donated $190,000 to Paxton, campaign finance records show, including $25,000 days after he was indicted.

#ResistanceRoots Doris “Dorie” Miller was born on this day in 1919 in Waco, Texas. Because of his heroism during the attack on Pearl Harbor, he became the first African American recipient of the Navy Cross. His bravery spurred civil rights activists to push to desegregate the U.S. military. /1
Dorie Miller wearing his Navy Cross in May 1942. Miller’s extraordinary valor during the attack on Pearl Harbor forced a reluctant Navy to award him the Navy Cross. However, the myths and structural segregation that relegated Miller to the Messman Branch persisted after Dec. 7, 1941. Miller’s actions gave civil rights activists an undeniable symbol to fight for institutional equality. It took a coordinated campaign by activist networks to force the government’s hand. While the Navy tried to compartmentalize Miller’s award as an isolated exception — even keeping his rank restricted to the mess deck — the activist momentum could not be stopped. His visibility forced the Navy to begin opening up general service training to Black sailors and commissioning Black officers. Ultimately, the public discourse surrounding Miller’s valor laid the foundation for President Truman’s Executive Order 9981, desegregating the U.S. Armed Forces in 1948.
