@drscottarthurmp.bsky.social presided over the reopening of Braid Rd to streams of cars in either direction, to great fanfare. Any comment Scott Arthur MP? (We will not be accepting anything blaming another political party - dems the rulez)

Road is still closed but The Innocent Path is not restricted. The crossing itself is out of action, but with the road closed there's no need for it and you can cross a few metres east. #EdTravCyc Token picture of broken water main.

Seen a report (Reddit) of a burst water main on Duddingston Park South which looks like it's taken the Innocent Path crossing out of action. #EdTravCyc www.reddit.com/r/Edinburgh/...

The council is consulting on whether to grant access to vehicles to the rear of Greenside Church and house, as this is common good land. While this is a bit of a niche issue I'm sure there will be some who would want to feed in their views consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/cg/greenside/
A map shows the Greenside Church and house with a red boundary line, and a green outlined and shaded area to indicate the vehicular access that is proposed across common good land.

Reminder that, wildly, Edinburgh councillors declined to continue 20mph through Currie because it would make the 1am night bus two minutes slower (there was no impact predicted for day buses except making them much more competitive with private cars):

The vast majority of people use the buses in Edinburgh. To make sure they get the best service we need more bus gates/bus lanes, bus priority at traffic signals and expansion of bus lane hours. Politically a no-brainer for even the most timid of councillors. www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinbur...

Edinburgh bus route sees some journeys increase by nearly 20 minutes in 20 years
The figures come in a report that says new bus lanes, bus gates and other interventions could help bring down journey times across the city

Heads up! There are 4 way temporary lights at the junction of Duddingston Road/Southfield Place and Baileyfield Road/Duddingston Park. Long queue of cars on Duddingston Road approach, lots of grumpy/impatient drivers.

I am once again going to bang my wee drum about how many folks go and pay to holiday cycling about in a rewilded/tree-lined car-free 15-minute city and don't stop to think for a minute that home could be just like that, after they drive home again from Center Parcs.

Isn't this illegal parking? This may seem a bit petty, but if you suggested some of that *public* space be used for a better protected cycle route it would be all BuT mA TrEEz!
Cars parked on a roadside between the carriageway and driveways. There is a wide strip of grass next to the carriagewayway and the cars are parked on a tarmac strip through that grass which is there, presumably, to allow access to the driveways. The road has double yellow lines.
