I had never seen it until last year when I finally decided to give it a try. I can see why it was seen as transgressive for its time. It was a fun and often absurd experience, even if the pacing seemed to drag in some sections. But it was always fun to watch Tim Curry chew on scenery, in any role! 😆

Here's a shot of the Harbinger ships that I printed at the larger scale, too. The Superdreadnought is 150mm long, making it absolutely monstrous on the table, but then it should be since it's an Ancient level threat that can blow enemy capital ships away in a single shot!

Resin prints of starships in a plastic tray on a blue shop towel. The main focus is a large Harbinger superdreadnought that is waiting for its chance to blast puny lesser empires into dust. A denture brush waits on the side, preparing for the right moment to attack.

Starting work on laying down base colors for the VBAM fleets now that I think I have them resized how I like them. Heavy Cruisers are now around 70mm long (instead of 60mm), and everything has been sized up about 125% to follow suit.

A green hobby mat with various paints and glues strewn about haphazardly. There are a number of spaceship miniatures in various stages of preparation for painting, along with two paint brushes. A pair of pliers loom ominously in the bottom right hand corner of the frame, a warning to any miniature that dares get out of line.

A pile of miniatures base coated in a mix of purple, green, blue, and gold on top of several pieces of parchment paper. A single ship is still attached to an alligator clip, lamenting the passing of its time in the spray booth and its uncertain future.

The plan is to get these ships 3d printed, primed, and painted so I can then stat them up in #Starmada and start pushing them around the table, taking them up against some of the other #VBAM factions as a diversion as I try to get back into tabletop gaming after about a year of not feeling up to it.

Finally the Brindaki Endurance light cruiser is a cut down version of the Perseverance heavy cruiser, with roughly half the firepower while remaining fairly well armored for a ship its size.

Here's one of the original Brindaki ships I did last year, the Perseverance heavy cruiser. This ship is heavily armed, but also carries substantial logistics stores that allow it to support itself and other friendly units when deployed in the field.

The Brindaki Tireless corvette is an atmospheric ship intended for colonial patrol missions, keeping the space lanes clear around Brindaki colonies and trading posts.

The Brindaki Steadfast frigate is a dedicated anti-fighter escort, built for speed with enough small weapons (including some short range missile weapons) to engage enemy fighters, even though the weapons lack the range or offensive punch to be much of a threat to enemy capital ships.

The Brindaki Patroller attack boat meanwhile is a short range defensive craft that is designed for a customs enforcement role. It relies on its short range missile launchers to disable enemy ships prior to boarding them.

I've been in the mood to go back and finish up some missing ships for the Brindaki League from #VBAM. Here is the Dromedary supply destroyer. It's minimally armed, but carries a considerable amount of cargo for a ship its size.
