as someone with little to no ttrpg experience before running into girl frame last year, the idea that "GM" and "player" are fully separate groups has always completely baffled me. sure, the GM may be doing things differently to the rest of you, but you're all still playing the game, are you not?

This is 100% my philosophy too. I'll always prefer to make weird stuff I love, for a small group of weirdos, over twisting me and my work into unnatural shapes for mass appeal. You really don't need millions of followers to make a living as a creative, just like ~500-1000 folk who always show up.

Switching to playing cards instead of dice was the BEST thing I could've done for Skyld as a game I've been working on Traits, and it's sold me on cards for this. There's so many ways cards can be used, this is the most fun I've had designing in a while. I'm gonna have to share some of these later!
