A lot of liars really like to reference common sense. Too many cars driving too much in your city because of #CarDependency is the opposite of common sense. Polluting your air and fuelling #ClimateChange while limiting choices in how we can get around in cities is the opposite of common sense.

5/ And just two days ago, Carney announced LNG Canada 2. LNG Canada burned more fracked gas through flaring last year than any other project on earth. At times the flare has reached 90 metres high. So much for Canada’s claims about producing the “cleanest LNG.”

Bill C-39 doubles down on habitat offsets, in which companies can "build" new habitat elsewhere to compensate for what they destroy in building a mine, a port, a pipeline or other project. The practice is highly contested by scientists. “This is our worst fear,” said biologist Misty MacDuffee.

So much respect for this, and the framing. ABC, the right wing version of Progress Toronto, has used health care workers/hospitals as reason to rip them out. This puts a lie to that (and on University ambulances can bypass cars in the wide bikelanes if needed). So many lies.

Paris has been praised in recent years for their visionary, progressive city-building, but they don’t get enough credit for just being really pragmatic! Everything they’ve been doing is common sense. They’re moving a lot more people with less space while cleaning the air and cooling the city.

I often think about the speed camera chopping vigilante who returned to the scene of their crime on Parkside Drive multiple times but Toronto police didn’t catch them & it led to Doug Ford banning speed cameras for 16 million people & now speeding is at epidemic levels & people will die.
