The cope from some Man City fans is that the sham sponsorship income meant the club overstated revenue and so overpaid corporation tax. So they are due a refund! Awesome! Um, no. City paid *zero* corporation tax because they lost buckets of money. The receipts:

Rui Pinto, the man behind the Football Leaks website, has posted a detailed allegation about Gianni Infantino’s role in UEFA’s handling of Manchester City and PSG in 2014, citing material revealed through Football Leaks. These are Pinto’s claims, and they’re worth reading in full below.
Screenshot of a post by verified account Rui Pinto (@RuiPinto_FL), dated 30 September 2026. Pinto alleges that Gianni Infantino, while UEFA General Secretary in 2014, improperly intervened in investigations into Manchester City and PSG, sharing confidential documents and helping both clubs avoid potentially harsher sanctions. He says the details were revealed through Football Leaks and concludes that Infantino has become “a cancer on football” who should have no place in the game’s future.
