Babbitt and Catstello as Abbott and Costello-a-likes in "A Tale of Two Kitties," d. Bob Clampett. Significant for 1st appearance of Tweety before being called Tweety. Also there's a middle finger joke! "Give me the bird!" "If the Hayes Office would only let me, I'd give 'im the boid, all right."

CURRENT READING @naominovik.bsky.social THE LAST GRADUATE. Book 2 of THE SCHOLOMANCE. I said I'd read book 2 very soon! Delightful fantasy with a (this is a word I learned today in a different context) tsundere main (tell me if I'm wrong). Happy this is a trilogy with 3rd book already published
Cover of THE LAST GRADUATE by Naomi Novik“To be fair, you’re the only person I’ve ever met who’d come up with the idea of being wildly rude and hostile to the guy who saved your life twenty times,” Aadhya said.

I glared at her. “Thirteen times! And I’ve saved his life at least twice.”

“Catch up already, girl,” she said, unrepentantly.

I watched every episode of both and #1 I love that Perry's production company was called Anhedonia (the inability to feel pleasure, opposite of hedonism) and #2 I never called the first one anything but Goon (before the word became gross in recent years)

I want to keep up the gimmick "Tom is amazed and surprised by great albums everybody knows" but instead I'll say Hoopla has TALKING BOOK and SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE available but not iNNERVISIONS, and I'm upset I don't have the 3rd of what I'd consider Wonder's trilogy of perfection on my tablet

A 7 panel comic by the artist. First panel: The artist is running from a distance towards a group of people playing basketball in the park. The artist is holding a pumpkin above their head and screaming "AAAAAAAAA". Second panel: The artist has leapt up and is in position to slam dunk the pumpkin into the basketball hoop. Panel three: the pumpkin splatters violently against the backboard of the basketball hoop, sending orange pumpkin goop everywhere. Panel four: the players stand staring, covered in pumpkin goop and shocked. Panel five: the artist stares at them wide-eyed, also covered in the goop and says "it's October FIRST". Their hand reaches towards their face. Panel six: the artist rips off their own face like a rubber mask to reveal a skeleton beneath. Panel 7: the group of players stand shocked and horrified, watching as the skeleton falls to the ground in a pile of bones, the sound effects says "CLATTER".

Is anybody reading BADROCK? The cover of the new issue caught my eye, for obvious reasons
BADROCK #3, Rob Liefeld, Seth Damoose. Badrock is the character's name, I guess? Badrock is in black silhouette, looking like he's caught in an explosion, against an all green background. The title is indigo/violet or something like thatThe landmark issue #377 of THE (NEW) INCREDIBLE HULK, Peter David, Dale Keown. The first appearance of "Professor Hulk." The exact same cover as BADROCK #3, but Hulk instead of Badrock

Still reading CUNK ON EVERYTHING. Decided to do a Kindle search for my favorite word. Was not disappointed.
From CUNK ON EVERYTHING, entry for Middle Ages, subsection Knights and Castles.

"In the time of knights, everything went totally Robocop. It was a bit like the difference between when policemen had soft jackets and jolly helmets and now, when they’ve got stab vests and semi-automatic submachine guns. This was known as the Age of Shivery, because it gets dead cold if you’re only wearing tins."

I listened to "Choosin' Texas." This is the longest running #1 song ever, that's the deal? I definitely have never heard it but also I might have heard it 50 years ago as the 4th track on the B-side of a Tanya Tucker album. It's pleasant but forgettable, except everyone in the world loves it I guess
