Not to job post on main but my general feeling is that NP is not P. My intuition here is that solving a problem relies on symmetries that let you infer global information from local structure, and problems, as a general concept, don't guarantee that is possible.

One of the reasons I think the anti trans backlash succeeded is the end of monoculture. We caught the tail end with OITNB but by 2020, algorithmic feeds were the default. Everyone became siloed. And it's easier to convince people to hate trans people in that silo when they don't know anyone trans.

There is not yet wide evidence that "gen AI" actually enhances researchers' and developers' results. Some of the most headline-grabbing work that claimed it does is now actively disavowed by the institution under which auspices it was done. That is a MASSIVE ding on the reliability of that research.

This is a solution and one lots of people are going to. It works. It’s also pedagogically terrible. Fundamentally ableist in structure. It assesses skills that are not the relevant skills for any meaningful intellectual activity. It represses skills that are meaningful. I don’t have an answer.
