these people really want to make "racist" akin to a slur rather than what it is, a straightforward label for a set of beliefs and views. if you don't like the label because you, correctly, associate it with degenerate chuds, then get better beliefs

Listening to the great @samadlerbell.bsky.social and @mattsitman.bsky.social on the the Thiel Antichrist lectures. This is why democracy is so important! Without it we all end up ruled by the personal baggage of a few guys.

You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

This is a sick civilization. An open call to genocide. It is clear that Gaza is how we got here- tolerating genocide in one space begets another. Generations of our ancestors have worked to build something different, toward the preservation of earthly life. I hope I live to see this re-orientation.

Right now Rikers Island, the physically largest jail in the entire United States, is holding under 7,000 people. ICE's warehouse plans include detention camps which will hold between 8,500-10,000 people in buildings not designed for human habitation.

I desperately need someone to acknowledge that even if the obvious lies were true, shooting a driver in the head DOES NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE STOP, AS THE VIDEO CLEARLY SHOWS! Even in their fantasy world the self-defense argument makes no goddamn sense!

Watching our mad king don his AI slop crown and publicly fantasize about rage shitting on our moment of collective power is the perfect counterpoint: he's the one isolated in his impotent fury, clinging to the online simulacrum while we primally express and experience our very real strength.

Who said it: JD Vance or some secessionist in 1860?
Our people partake of the true American character, and are mainly the descendants of those who fought the battles of the Revolution, and who understand and appreciate the nature and inestimable value of the liberty which it brought. Adhering to the simple truths of the Gospel and the faith of their fathers, they have not run hither and thither in search of all the absurd and degrading isms which have sprung up in the rank soil of infidelity. They are not Mormons or Spiritualists, they are not Owenites, Fourierites, Agrarians, Socialists, Free-lovers or Millerites. They are not for breaking down all the forms of society and of religion and re-constructing them; but prefer law, order and existing institutions to the chaos which radicalism involves.

Your reminder that they cannot arrest millions of people no matter how hard they try. They lack the infrastructure, they lack the personnel, and the economy would straight-up collapse They are going to try to scare us by making examples out of a few people, and our job is to not fall for it

The pundit class's notion of "free speech" is predicated on a division of humanity into those who *participate* in debates and those who are the *topic* of debate, where treating one of the former as if they were one of the latter is seen as the direst of all threats to "free speech".

It absolutely matters here that Pritzker was effective at sounding the alarm and plainly stating this would be unconstitutional in a profoundly radical and fundamental way, and showing he could rally practical popular opposition, which then gets spun as backing out over "legal headaches."

Trump shelved his plans to target Chicago as the next city for his domestic crime push after advisers warned him that sending in troops to help with local law enforcement (without buy-in from the state’s governor) could create legal headaches they want to avoid, sources familiar with the matter told CNN

Now he’s going to Memphis

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

So again, one might ask how an empirically-grounded journalist who wrote an entire book lamenting the polarized state of American politics, might describe one of the most intentionally polarizing fabulists of our era as someone who did "politics the right way." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_We%...

There's a reason Kirk rarely engaged with his fellow adults who knew things about things. It's because Kirk was not interested in or adept at knowing things about things...which, IMO, is not an admirable quality in a figure whose entire brand is to engage in public/political debate.

One final thing. It's odd to see Ezra Klein, a total policy nerd, say Kirk did politics the right way when Kirk had almost no interest in either policy, or the empirical rigor necessary to get policy right. Kirk's approach to politics was 99% culture war rage stoking w/ almost no policy content.

A couple more thoughts on this. There is exactly one crime defined in the U.S. Constitution: treason. The first definition is levying war against the United States. Trump is explicitly threatening that. U.S. soldiers are not only permitted, they are *obliged* to refuse an order to commit treason.

Think we should do more straightforward rejection of the concept of gender roles. There are simply no traits that are good if a man does it but not if a woman does, and vice versa. Being a courageous provider or a caring nurturer are good regardless of your gender identify.

If we want men to be less lonely, we should start by socializing them in boyhood to be part of a shared project of care. Give them dolls, toy kitchens, and tea sets. Ask them to help care for younger children. Expect them to clean up after themselves. Let them feel the work and value of care. 1/
